L'Enciclopedia del Tessuto: Volume I, Silk is finally yours

L'Enciclopedia del Tessuto: Volume I, Silk is finally yours

There are fabrics that can be described in many ways: through words, a photograph, a video, a hand moving them into the light. And then there are fabrics that, to be truly understood, need to be touched, studied, observed up close. This is where l'Enciclopedia del Tessuto begins: a project created to accompany you in discovering the materials you choose, love, and transform every day. Not a single volume, but a collection designed to grow over time, fabric after fabric. For the first chapter, we started with silk. Precious, ancient, luminous, ever-changing: silk moves through time without losing its charm, and takes on a completely different character depending on its weave, texture, weight, and the way it catches the light. It may seem like an easy fabric to recognize, but it holds countless nuances, techniques, and creative possibilities. Over the past few months, we have gathered many of the questions you ask us during your purchases: how to choose the right silk for a project, what the difference is between one weave and another, what kind of hand to expect from a specific fabric, how to imagine the final result even before sewing it. They are technical, practical, creative questions. And they tell us something important: choosing a fabric does not simply mean buying a raw material, but imagining a shape, a movement, a feeling. We have tried to gather in these pages answers, curiosities, and small useful references, to guide you and help you become more and more aware when choosing the perfect fabric. A guide to leaf through whenever a doubt arises, to consult while you are working on something new, or simply to read as a way to better understand the material we love most. For EVA re-source, every fabric has a story, an origin, and a possibility. We believe that knowing the material more deeply is part of the creative process: the more we learn to read it, the more we can respect it, enhance it, and transform it into something that lasts. This, too, is Circular Creativity for us.

L'Enciclopedia del Tessuto: Volume I, Silk is available on our website. It will also be complimentary with the first 100 orders over €250, excluding VAT and shipping.

We hope this first volume will accompany you through your projects, your choices, and your discoveries. Most of all, we hope it will be only the beginning of a collection to leaf through, consult, and keep over time.
