One of our most reliable and astonishing methods to discover the composition of fabrics involves the use of a lighter. Yes, you read that right. A small gesture, slightly burning a part of the fabric, reveals its essence through the flame and the odor it emits. Silk, for instance, leaves us with small beads that crumble to the touch and a scent reminiscent of burnt hair, as does wool, while polyester forms hard beads and releases an scent of melted plastic. Cotton and viscose, on the other hand, see the flame dance along their fibers, releasing a aroma akin to that of burnt paper.
For mixed fabrics, we proceed by analyzing the threads in both the warp and weft, applying the same technique, a small action that allows us to ensure the authenticity and quality of what we offer.
